A proposal for the future of the Caledonia County State Airport is still being considered by state officials, who say progress is being made. The Vermont Agency of Transportation has been considering the future of the Lyndonville airport for the better part of a year now. During the last legislative session, AOT asked for legislative approval to sell or lease the airport, in part because it was in need of infrastructure improvements that the state was not in a position to fund and because a private investor had expressed interest in the airport. AOT Secretary Joe Flynn told the Legislature in April that repairs and upgrades costing up to $14 million are needed at the airport, and there was no ready pot of public money to access. He also told legislators that Kyle Clark of BETA Technologies had expressed interest in investing in the airport.
