A Milan resident was hospitalized in critical condition Friday

ERROL, N.H. – A Milan resident was hospitalized in critical condition Friday in a two-vehicle head-on crash involving a moose. At 6:37 a.m., State Troopers from the Troop F barracks and the Troop G Motor Carrier Enforcement Unit were dispatched to Route 16 in Errol, about a mile north of Androscoggin Wayside Park, for a report of a head-on collision involving two commercial dump trucks. The initial on-scene investigation determined one of the dump trucks, driven by Justin Hallee, 38, of Milan, was traveling north when it struck a moose that had entered the road. After the impact, Hallee lost control and collided head-on with another dump truck approaching from the southbound lane. Hallee was transported by ambulance to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the second dump truck, identified as Jacob Gleason, 22, of Colebrook, was medically cleared on scene. State Police was assisted at the scene by the Errol Fire Department members and the N.H. Dept. of Environmental Services. This crash remains under investigation.
