A man who pointed a muzzleloader at a woman outside the Union Bank
A man who pointed a muzzleloader at a woman outside the Union Bank on Portland Street can never own a gun as part of a criminal case resolution reached on Monday in Caledonia Superior Court. Brian Miles, 35, of New Hampshire, pleaded no contest to the charge of aggravated domestic assault, and because it’s a felony charge, he can no longer have firearms. It is one of the “collateral consequences” of his felony conviction that Judge Michael Kainen explained to Miles before accepting Miles’ plea. The judge also told him that the conviction would likely mean a harsher penalty for any future criminal convictions.
