A man is facing an attempted capital murder charge
LACONIA, N.H. — A man is facing an attempted capital murder charge after police say he struck a Laconia police officer with a vehicle Thursday night. Justin Spirko, 38, of Londonderry, is facing multiple charges, including attempted capital murder of a police officer, attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, reckless conduct, driving while intoxicated, criminal threatening, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and simple assault. Spirko waived his arraignment Friday morning and will remain in jail. Laconia Police Chief Matt Canfield said Officer John Skehan suffered a serious lower leg injury and was undergoing surgery Friday. He said Skehan was in stable condition and was released from the hospital on Sunday.
