A local non-profit seeks a permanent solution for local homelessness
LITTLETON — A local non-profit seeks a permanent solution for local homelessness. Sonja Marie Mejia Rodriguez, founder of the non-profit Artisans With A Mission, has launched a fundraiser to create a permanent homeless shelter in town. According to Rodriguez, stakeholders have initiated talks with the owner of a possible location, but those discussions are in the very early stages. She said there is a clear need for another shelter in the greater Littleton area. The North Country currently has just three shelters offering fewer than 30 rooms: The 10-bed Tyler Blaine House in Lancaster, the 15-bed Burch House in Franconia, and the four-room Bancroft House in Franconia.
