A Boston man accused of firing a gun toward someone outside the Walmart Supercenter
NEWPORT — A Boston man accused of firing a gun toward someone outside the Walmart Supercenter in Derby on Wednesday was ordered held without bail at his arraignment in Orleans Superior Court on Thursday. Wellington Arias Jr., 21, appeared through video conference for the arraignment from a secure room at the Northern State Correctional Facility in Newport. Judge Rory Thibault presided over the hearing held after he found probable cause for Arias to be prosecuted on two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon and two counts of reckless endangerment. The judge did not find probable cause on a fifth criminal count authorities initially assigned of auto theft.
