A 17-year-old from Dublin is dead after Jaffrey police

JAFFREY, N.H. — A 17-year-old from Dublin is dead after Jaffrey police said he was hit by a car while riding an electric scooter. Authorities said they responded to a head-on crash on Dublin Road near Gilson Road around 1:00 p.m. Saturday involving a car and an electric scooter. Jaffrey police said the 17-year-old riding the electric scooter had serious injuries from the crash and was med-flighted to a hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. Authorities said he later died as a result of his injuries. Jaffrey police said the driver of the car was identified as Dennis Jewell, 22, from Jaffrey. Authorities did not confirm if Jewell sustained any injuries from the crash. Jaffrey police said they are investigating the crash. Authorities said they believe there was no “inappropriate driving” from the driver of the car.
