Four North Country Buildings Named to N.H. Preservation Alliance’s 2026 “Seven to Save”
Two town halls, a church, and an arts center. In a rare occurrence, the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance listed four at-risk historic buildings north of the Notch on its 2026 “Seven to Save.” The annual designation, now in its 20th year, draws attention to historic landmarks in New Hampshire that are aging, threatened, and in need of serious repairs or renovations, but may face funding challenges. Once a structure is listed, it can open up funding and grant opportunities. Each year, the alliance receives many nominations and must winnow them down to seven. The 2026 list includes Bethlehem Town Hall, Lisbon Town Hall and Opera House, the First Congregational Church in Haverhill, and the Great North Woods Center for the Arts in Columbia.
