St. Johnsbury School Featured in Northern Forest Center Biomass Heating Video
St. Johnsbury School has been featured in a video produced by the Northern Forest Center titled “Wood Heating for Large Buildings,” promoting biomass heat systems. The video highlights the school’s 156,000-square-foot facility, its modern wood-chip biomass heating plant, and its broader commitment to environmental stewardship and energy independence. The film also featured several other Northeast Kingdom facilities, including the Sheffield Town Garage. The video premiered on Sept. 17 at the Vermont Forest Industry Summit and shows how St. Johnsbury School uses local wood biomass to heat its building efficiently while reducing reliance on fossil fuels. The video advocates for biomass heating as a sustainable fuel source that is both cost-effective, helps combat climate change and keeps energy dollars local.
