Newport Out of the Darkness Walk Set for September 26

NEWPORT — The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Vermont Chapter invites the community to join the Newport County Out of the Darkness Walk on Saturday, September 26, 2026, starting at North Country Union High School. Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m., and the program begins at 10:00 a.m. Funds raised through the Newport Out of the Darkness Walk support AFSP’s lifesaving research, advocacy, survivor support, and educational programs in schools, workplaces, and communities across Vermont. AFSP Vermont provided more than 41 suicide prevention and postvention programs statewide last year, helping Vermonters recognize warning signs, reduce stigma, have supportive conversations, and connect people to help.
