Hiker Rescued After Getting Lost, Losing Boot on Valley Way Trail

LOW & BURBANK’S GRANT — A hiker was rescued from the Valley Way Trail Thursday evening after getting lost off trail, losing his boot and leaving his backpack behind after getting lost. The Valley Way Trail is in Coos County, N.H. Officials say that Aiden Shaw, 17, of Stratham, was descending Valley Way Trail when he lost the trail and became mired in deep snow. After multiple attempts to guide Shaw back onto the trail over the phone failed, conservation officers and volunteer personnel from Androscoggin Valley Search and Rescue (AVSAR) mobilized for a rescue.
