Fugitive Arrested Again After Fleeing into Woods

After fleeing into the woods and snow, a fugitive from the Northeast Kingdom was arrested Saturday in Groveton for violating the terms of his probation in a 2020 case involving the beating and strangling of a 24-year-old woman in Maidstone. And it’s not the first time Northumberland police have arrested Parker Lovell, 27, as a fugitive from justice in the New Hampshire town, nor the first time he has incurred probation violations in Vermont. Lovell, who previously lived in Guildhall and Maidstone and then at an approved residence in Newport for probation supervision, was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the vicinity of Deanbrook Drive and Lancaster Road/Route 3, Northumberland Police Lt. William Daisey said in a statement.
