The Lancaster Police Department responded to a possible school threat this week

LANCASTER — The Lancaster Police Department responded to a possible school threat this week. LPD placed an officer at Lancaster Elementary School (LES) on Jan. 6 after an unspecified threat was posted on the social media app Snapchat. Police Chief Jonathan Woodworth said a student reported the threat, and an investigation traced it to an address in California. A California law enforcement agency conducted an additional investigation and identified a juvenile female as a suspect. Woodworth said there was no threat to the LES community.
