A fire at Dartmouth College damaged a science building
HANOVER, N.H. – A fire at Dartmouth College damaged a science building earlier Friday morning. The Hanover Fire Department says it happened on the 8th floor of the Vail Basic Sciences Building. Crews say there was near zero visibility due to heavy smoke, but worked quickly and were able to extinguish the fire. No one was hurt. The 8th floor is a mechanical and maintenance space. The building sustained minor fire and smoke damage on the 8th floor, and water damage all the way down to the 3rd floor. The fire is still under investigation, but first responders say it does not appear suspicious.
