A missing Littleton man was found in his vehicle submerged in the Connecticut River

LANCASTER — A missing Littleton man was found in his vehicle submerged in the Connecticut River near the Mt. Orne covered bridge in Lancaster Saturday. NH Fish and Game officials say Stephen Paquette, 41, of Littleton was found after not having been heard from in about a week. Lancaster Police Department officers patrolled the area on Friday while following up on information received about Paquette. The Lancaster PD officers located a set of vehicle tracks that crossed a hay field and ended at the bank of the river near Route 135. Lancaster PD then reached out to New Hampshire Fish and Game to request a specialized search of the river.Saturday morning, a Conservation Officer using a drone located a vehicle in the river near where the tracks ended on the riverbank. Additional officers were able to view and search the vehicle using a specialized tool knows as a remotely operated vehicle, which confirmed the vehicle was registered to Paquette and that there was an individual inside. A heavy wrecker was summoned and divers from NH Fish and Game hooked up cables. The vehicle was then winched out of the water. At approximately 1 p.m., investigators confirmed that there was a single individual within the vehicle and that it was Paquette.
