A Lancaster man will serve more than a year in federal prison
A Lancaster man will serve more than a year in federal prison after waiving indictment and pleading guilty to possessing child pornography in 2021. On Thursday, following a plea in February, Olin Garneau, 37, was sentenced at the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire in Concord on one count of knowingly having at least one image of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on his cell phone. In addition to serving 14 months in prison, the sentence carries 15 years of supervised release. Prosecutors had asked for 51 months to serve and five years of supervised release. The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse, launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice, said federal prosecutors.
