Ammonoosuc Community Health Services has reached a milestone
LITTLETON — Ammonoosuc Community Health Services has reached a milestone. On Friday, three members of New Hampshire’s federal delegation — U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH, U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-NH, and U.S. Rep. Ann Kuster, D-NH — recognized ACHS with a joint resolution celebrating its 30th anniversary as a federally qualified health center. Joining Ed Shanshala, CEO of ACHS, and ACHS staff members were Chuck Henderson, the North Country representative for Shaheen, Stephanie Weiner, the representative for Kuster, and Ben Belanger, the representative for Hassan. ACHS, which will celebrate 50 years in the North Country in 2025, was established under the vision of Dr. Jennifer Lewis and the direction of Norrine Williams to meet what Shaheen, Hassan, and Kuster called “a dire need for quality health care services in rural regions.”
