A man is hospitalized after a late-night incident with Vermont State Police
A man is hospitalized after a late-night incident with Vermont State Police in the Northeast Kingdom. It started late Sunday night in the town of Burke and ended with one man getting shot. The shooting happened around 10:05 p.m. near the intersection of Rt. 114 and Pinkham Rd. Vermont State Police say shots rang out during a confrontation between a man and a State Trooper. The man was then transported to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital for his injuries and as of Sunday at 11 p.m., his condition is unknown. The troopers involved were not hurt. Neither the name of the victim nor the state trooper involved have been released. An investigation is now underway involving detectives from the Vermont State Police Major Crime Units and the Victim Services Unit, among other units.
