For its 20th anniversary, the covered pedestrian footbridge
LITTLETON — For its 20th anniversary, the covered pedestrian footbridge that spans the Ammonoosuc River and connects the riverwalk with downtown will be dedicated to all of the town’s volunteers, past, present, and future. Making the proposal for what was a 3-0 Select Board vote on Monday was Linda MacNeil, chair of the Select Board, who said the bridge committee and those involved had been arriving at that consensus. “The volunteer boards, the conservation commission, planning board, zoning board, the Riverfront Commons, First Friday, the Cultural Arts Commission, the list goes on and on and on,” she said. The half-hour dedication ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. Aug. 2.
