Taxpayers will have to foot the bill for stolen road signs
WATERFORD — Taxpayers will have to foot the bill for stolen road signs. On April 15, Road Foreman Jim Hayes told the Select Board that 11 road signs had been taken throughout town. According to Hayes, the approved 2024 municipal budget does not include funds to replace the signs, and grant money is unavailable. The cost to replace the signs is unknown. The stolen road signs include two from Duck Pond Road and one from Hale Road, Valley View Road, Shadow Lake Road, Moore Dam Road, Moore View Lane, Hudson Road, Stoney Brook Road, Lawrence Road, and Remick Road. Those with information on the stolen signs can contact Vermont State Police at (802) 524-5993.
